You're not a content creator

(and that's OK!)

Hey Reader,

I recently saw one of the top personal brand creators in the world recommend spending 2 hours a day commenting on LinkedIn.

2 hours. Commenting.

Who in their right mind has time for that? πŸ™Š

Oh right...content creators do.
Because LinkedIn IS their full-time job.

But here's the thing: You're not a content creator.

You're a business owner. A leader. A professional.

Your expertise isn't in writing viral posts or gaming the algorithm.

Your expertise is in serving your clients and running your business.

And there's a massive difference between:

Content Creators:

  • LinkedIn IS their business
  • Their audience is their product
  • Spending 2 hours commenting IS their job
  • Success = likes, followers, impressions

You:

  • LinkedIn SUPPORTS your business
  • Your service/expertise is your product
  • Spending 2 hours commenting = not serving clients
  • Success = conversations, calls booked, clients signed

When you take advice from content creators and try to apply it to your business, you end up:

  • Chasing vanity metrics that don't matter
  • Spending hours on engagement instead of revenue-generating activities
  • Feeling like you're failing because you can't keep up
  • Forgetting why you're on LinkedIn in the first place

If I spent 2 hours commenting every day, I wouldn't have time for sales calls.
I wouldn't have time to serve my clients.
I wouldn't have time to actually run my business.

Listen:

You don't need millions of people to see your content.
You need the RIGHT people to see it.

You don't need to go viral.
You need the people who already know, like, and trust you to stay top of mind.

You don't need to spend 2 hours commenting.
You need to show up strategically in ways that move your business forward.

The people making the most money on LinkedIn often aren't the ones with the most likes.
They're the ones having the most meaningful conversations.

So give yourself permission:

  • Post less than the "experts" recommend
  • Leave a handful of really quality comments
  • Prioritize client work over LinkedIn engagement
  • Be strategic rather than everywhere
  • Measure success by business results, not viral posts

Before you spend time on LinkedIn, ask yourself:

"Is this activity moving my business forward, or am I just chasing likes?"

That one question will save you hours of wasted time.

You're not a content creator.

And honestly? That's your advantage.

Content creators need millions of followers to monetize.

You just need the right people to know, like, and trust you.

That's a much simpler, rewarding...and more profitable...strategy.

Until next time,
Natasha

Hi Reader! It's that weird week between Christmas and New Year. That awkward time where no one knows what day it is or what you should be doing. Our matching family PJs just arrived yesterday. (Yep, dropped the ball on that one). But I'm wearing them now because why not.πŸ™ƒ I'm taking a much-needed break this week, so I'm cheating a little...instead of my usual newsletter, I want to flip it. I'm guessing LinkedIn is a thorn in your 2026 side What areas are you struggling with? A. Staring at a...

I'm ending it with everything I wanted - and I almost missed it. Hi Reader, Here's my year in review + and where I'm heading in 2026: January My son had just spent 4 weeks in the NICU. We were days away from moving across the country. I had 2 clients, $38k in credit card debt, hospital bills piling up, and a fractured foot because why not. When we looked at childcare costs vs. what my husband could make, the math didn't math. So we bet everything on my business. He became a stay-at-home dad...

Hey Reader, 3 clients last week were making the same mistake. 3! One is struggling to get into this top defense company even though they've already worked with them... I asked who he’s reached out to of the 43 people he's connected to at that company. His answer? β€œNo one.” One was feeling good about where her content was. She's new to LinkedIn so this has been a process, but she's now having her team post the content (which is totally ok! If you have the support, amazing!) but that meant...
