The most valuable thing I added to my business

Hey Reader!

Are you thinking about starting a newsletter? Do it.

Already have one but not seeing results? Keep reading…you might be missing a few key elements.

Starting my newsletter was the single most valuable thing I added to my business this year. It's hard to pinpoint exact numbers, but I can say it directly closed or influenced around ~$75k in business over the last 6 months.

From a small (but mighty) 381-person email list. Let that sink in.

And last month when I hosted my first ever live workshop? 176 people registered. More than half of those came from this newsletter…either directly or because someone forwarded it to a friend.

I didn't even send a single promotional email for it. I just mentioned it naturally in my regular newsletters, the way I'd tell a friend about something I was excited about.

That's the power of a list that actually pays attention.

Why does it work so well?

  1. It's intimate. You're not shouting into the void… you're speaking directly to someone who invited you into their inbox.
  2. It's intentional. These people are welcoming you into their inbox ON PURPOSE. They opted in to hear from you weekly. It's not being fed to them by some algorithm that might decide to hide you tomorrow.
  3. It has depth. No character limits. No competing for attention against the 18 other posts someone scrolls through in 1.24 minutes before closing the app. (Yes, that's an actual stat I read.) You get their full attention.

I've got a 71% open rate…meaning 71% of the people on my list are actively paying attention to what I have to say. That's not vanity metrics. That's real attention from real people who want to hear from me.

What I didn't expect

Honestly? I thought this would be something I'd heavily leverage AI for. Just check off the box, send some emails, move on.

But it ended up doing something unexpected.

It forced me to articulate my coaching in ways I'd never considered before. It sparked a creativity in me I didn't know I had. And it became the thing I actually look forward to each week…not another task on my to-do list.

What my readers keep telling me

"I love getting your newsletters."

"They're packed with value."

"It's the only one I actually read."

(My jaw literally dropped on that last one.)

Someone told me recently that she never responds to mass emails. Yet she replied to mine twice in a row. AND we had a call scheduled for the following week.

That doesn't happen with algorithm-fed content. That happens when you show up real.

Why this matters NOW

There's so much noise out there right now. AI content everywhere. Generic advice. Pitch-slapping in every DM.

But what you're doing…the behind-the-scenes, the lessons you're learning, the REAL stuff… that's what people are craving. That's what cuts through.

I've been working with all my clients (in the cohort and 1:1) on getting their newsletters going, or fixing them if they weren't seeing results. Coaches, consultants, even a contract manufacturer — a machine shop! Their CEO just started one (separate from their company newsletter).

Because this works for EVERY business that's built on trust and relationships. (ie every business 👀)

My only regret?

I didn't start sooner.

I thought I'd just put emails out there because "that's what you're supposed to do." That's what so many of the newsletters I receive feel like…and, duh, I don't read any of those. LOL.

But once I leaned in? Once I made it mine? It became so much fun that I can't imagine NOT having a newsletter now.

One question I get a lot:

"Should I do a LinkedIn newsletter or a traditional email newsletter?"

Both…but they serve different purposes.

(Reply "PURPOSE" if you want me to break that down in a future newsletter!)

So...what're you waiting for??

Toodles,
Natasha

P.S I've helped 8 clients launch or fix their newsletters in the last few weeks alone. I’m the LinkedIn lady, yes… but growing your business? That's the actual mission.

P.S.2: Happy late Thanksgiving! I got a little personal on LinkedIn yesterday about how this year tested me in ways I never imagined. If you missed it, check it out. You're included in the "you" I'm grateful for. 💜

Hi Reader! It's that weird week between Christmas and New Year. That awkward time where no one knows what day it is or what you should be doing. Our matching family PJs just arrived yesterday. (Yep, dropped the ball on that one). But I'm wearing them now because why not.🙃 I'm taking a much-needed break this week, so I'm cheating a little...instead of my usual newsletter, I want to flip it. I'm guessing LinkedIn is a thorn in your 2026 side What areas are you struggling with? A. Staring at a...

I'm ending it with everything I wanted - and I almost missed it. Hi Reader, Here's my year in review + and where I'm heading in 2026: January My son had just spent 4 weeks in the NICU. We were days away from moving across the country. I had 2 clients, $38k in credit card debt, hospital bills piling up, and a fractured foot because why not. When we looked at childcare costs vs. what my husband could make, the math didn't math. So we bet everything on my business. He became a stay-at-home dad...

Hey Reader, 3 clients last week were making the same mistake. 3! One is struggling to get into this top defense company even though they've already worked with them... I asked who he’s reached out to of the 43 people he's connected to at that company. His answer? “No one.” One was feeling good about where her content was. She's new to LinkedIn so this has been a process, but she's now having her team post the content (which is totally ok! If you have the support, amazing!) but that meant...
