Hi Reader, If you're trying to become a LinkedIn influencer, I'm not your person. I was on a sales call last week and it turned out that's exactly what this person wanted to become. (Big following, viral posts, the whole shebang). You can imagine that got a little awkward. 🫠Because I don't know how to make you go viral. Do some of my clients go viral? Sure. But I couldn't tell you how to do it on purpose. I don't know how to grow a big audience or get massive engagement. What I do know how to do is help you show up here in a way that's real, that bridges the online to offline world, and that grows, nurtures, and deepens relationships that go way BEYOND a social media platform. You know my POV… I'm on LinkedIn to get off LinkedIn. The platform isn't the point. The relationships are. What's interesting, though? By doing the work, showing up as your authentic self, and building those relationships, you end up becoming a person of influence anyway. The visibility comes organically, because of the impact you're having IRL, OFF of this platform. So I guess at the end of the day I do help you become an influencer. Just not in any way that involves hacking a system, or relying on an algorithm nobody can figure out, or trusting a company that doesn't give two craps about the success of its users. By the way, part of why that call went sideways is that she found me through someone else's email, not through my content. She'd never seen my approach. She did seem intrigued but I have high doubts it’ll move forward. That’s OK. I'm not for everybody. I'd much rather we find that out in 30 minutes than three months in. Toodles, P.S. If you want the relationship version of this, where the goal is real conversations instead of chasing impressions, that's the REALationship Growth Method. My final cohort of the year kicks off end of October. OR I've got 2x 1:1 spots for October start. DM me LFG and let's talk deets. |
Struggling on LinkedIn? I've got the REAL LinkedIn Strategy to help you get more visible and win more sales.
Hi Reader, When was the last time you did an intro post? A post where you introduce yourself to your network. I tell my clients to do one every few months, because your network is always changing. Some people missed the last one. Some have been around a while and still don’t know a particular piece of you, and some are brand new to your universe. (Skip to bottom to get free intro post guide!) These posts always do well, and I end up getting the best conversations from them (and higher...
Hi Reader, I was on a call recently with a client who was frustrated. Her random Low Country boil post did amazing. Way more engagement than she’s used to, a bunch of profile views, and it even got her a few calls. Meanwhile her educational content, the genuinely valuable content she works hard on, gets almost nothing. I hear this ALL the time. People are baffled that the fun personal post takes off while the thorough, useful, expertise-driven one sits there. There are two things going on. 1:...
Hi Reader, Liz shared something that gave me tapping toes (you know…of excitement??). She recently had her BIGGEST month she's ever had in her business. 🥳 When Liz joined my cohort, her LinkedIn didn't reflect her at all. She had a stock photo of a person writing, a couple of books she'd worked on 8 years ago, and a lot of outdated info. She'd connect with people she met, and that was about the extent of it. Which is wild, because Liz does really incredible work with incredible people (she's...
