LinkedIn reach is WAY down (but I'm not bothered)

Hey Reader,

Everyone is freaking out about reach on LinkedIn right now.

"I've been shadowbanned!" (yes.. seriously saw this)
"Reach is at an all-time low!"
"It's down 30%!"

Literally everyone seems to be talking about it.

(THAT and how you shouldn't use the em-dash anymore since that's apparently a clear tell it was written by AI - as if the em-dash didn't exist before AI. But that's a tangent for another day. 👀)

I was on a podcast last week (Mastering Tech Growth - check it out!) and got asked about this obsession with vanity metrics.

My take? Try not to pay attention to them.

Now, of course, I don't want your post to die in the algorithm.

There are best practices to follow to give your content the best opportunity for visibility.

But here's what everyone's missing:

The real magic happens with Content + Conversations.

If you're doing that right, you're not at the whim of the algorithm.

The more conversations you have in comments and DMs, the more your content shows up in those people's feeds.

And then THEIR network sees it too.

It's like a ripple effect that no algorithm change can touch.

For example — I just signed a client who was a 2nd-degree connection.

She booked a call with me after seeing my content - but only saw it because of 1 mutual connection who commented on my post.

One comment.
One shared connection.
One new client.

That's the power of conversations over vanity metrics.

What to Focus on Instead

Stop trying to win the algorithm. Start winning relationships.

Ask yourself:

→ Are you speaking to your audience's actual pain points?
→ Are you "hanging out" virtually with people whose problems you solve?
→ Are you building genuine relationships off the platform?

If you're doing this consistently, you're going to get eyes on your content from people who actually need your services.

The algorithm is:

  • Constantly changing
  • Constantly going to drive you nuts
  • Never going to be in your control

But you CAN control:

  • The quality of conversations you're having
  • The relationships you're building
  • How well you understand your audience's needs

The Real LinkedIn Strategy

Focus on building relationships, not chasing reach.

When you do this right, you won't even notice when "reach is down 30%" because your business keeps growing anyway.

While everyone else is panicking about the latest algorithm change, you'll be having meaningful conversations that turn into real opportunities.

That's sustainable growth.
That's algorithm-proof marketing.
That's what actually moves the needle in your business.

Until next time,
Natasha

P.S. Next time you see someone complaining about their reach being down, ask them: "How many meaningful conversations did you have in the comments this week?" That's usually where the real problem lies.

Hey Reader, I was recently a guest on The Business Owner’s Journey podcast with Nick Berry. And I’m still pinching myself a little because this isn’t just any podcast. Nick has interviewed Jason Feifer (Editor-in-Chief of Entrepreneur Magazine), Dr. Benjamin Hardy (10x Is Easier Than 2x), and other heavy hitters in the business world. His show is all about shortening the learning curve for business owners - getting experienced entrepreneurs to pull back the curtain and share real lessons....

Hey Reader, Question for you: if you don't tell people how to work with you, how will they know how to work with you? Really obvious question, I know, but I find myself saying it to people all the time.I get it - we're not trying to be salesy on LinkedIn. And don’t get me wrong, it's totally okay to share promotional posts every so often. You should! The thing about LinkedIn…we don't want to FEEL like we're being sold to. But, I’m still selling in just about every post. The loophole? The P.S....

Hi Reader, A top creator asked me something interesting at the end of last year. "Are you feeling the algorithm change? I used to get 30,000 impressions. Now I'm getting a fraction of that." Honestly? I hadn't noticed. Not because my reach is magical. I've never gone viral. Never had those big numbers. But my business is better than it's ever been. But There Was a Change in the Algorithm: LinkedIn quietly rolled out something called 360Brew. It's one massive AI model that replaced thousands...
