You're not getting less busy

Hey Reader!

I'm writing this on Saturday while my son takes his 2.5 hour nap. This is my creative/me-time when I'm not distracted by client calls, LinkedIn, or all the other 100 things it takes to run a business.

And it got me thinking about something I hear all the time:

"I'll focus on LinkedIn when I have more bandwidth."

What I've recently learned as a business owner, breadwinner, mom, and wife:

Things don't slow down.

Busy is just life now (not in a bad way, I love my life). But I don't think life is suddenly going to get less busy ever. (especially once these naps go away?!)

And here's the thing about waiting: if you wait until things slow down to start something you know is important, you could be waiting forever. But even if things do slow down and you finally start, the moment life gets busy again (because it will), you'll struggle to keep it going.

The better approach? Figure out how to build it into your routine now. Make it part of what you already do. That way, when things pick up again, you won't skip a beat.

So if you've been waiting for the "right time" to take LinkedIn seriously, I want to offer a reframe:

LinkedIn doesn't have to be a giant project.

It's not some massive undertaking you need to carve out hours for. It's an extension of what you're already doing in real life: building relationships, starting conversations, deepening trust.

You're already doing that at networking events, on calls, in your inbox. LinkedIn is just another place to amplify what you're doing, and do more of it.

I once heard a top personal branding expert tell people they need to spend two hours a day commenting on LinkedIn to be successful.

Two hours. A day. Commenting. Who has time for that?
Content creators. That's who.

But we're not content creators. We're business owners trying to grow our businesses. That advice isn't built for us.

What I teach is different.

I'm in a season right now where I spend about 30 minutes a day on LinkedIn. Some of my clients do an hour a week. Some do 15 minutes a day. That's it.

Because the REALationship Growth Method is built to flex.

There are seasons where you go harder. Seasons where you pull back. Right now I'm in a "light LinkedIn" season. And that’s the whole point.

As you’ve probably heard me say: I'm on LinkedIn to get off LinkedIn.

Well, I've done such a good job of that, I'm now off LinkedIn... with clients and prospects and actual business. I barely have time for the platform because I'm busy doing the thing LinkedIn was supposed to help me do.

But I'm still maintaining it. The system holds because it's sustainable. (I just SOLD OUT of my 4th cohort despite barely being on the platform!)

What matters most? Consistency over intensity.

Even 10 minutes a day of showing up (commenting, connecting, posting when you can) compounds over time.

Think of it like the 1% better every day. If you're doing nothing right now and you add an hour a week, that's infinitely better than continuing to do nothing.

You don't have to go all in or have everything perfect. You just have to begin.

And once you start seeing results (a conversation that turns into a call, a lurker who finally reaches out, a referral from someone you forgot was watching) you'll be motivated to keep going because you'll see the ROI. And it won't feel like a chore anymore.

A client recently told me: "I've never gotten more tangible ROI from anything I've ever bought than from you."

That's not because she spent hours on LinkedIn. It's because she followed a system that fit into her actual life (as she launches a company, writes a book (just signed with Wiley!), and has 4 kids).

That's what I help people build.

If LinkedIn has been on your "someday" list, maybe today's the day you stop waiting.

Reply "LFG" if you want details.

Toodles,
Natasha

P.S. You don't need more time. You need a system that works with the time you have.

I’ve got space for 2 more 1:1 this quarter - are you ready to build a system that fits YOUR life right now? Reply “LFG” and let’s f’king go!! (and at least have a chat! : )

Hi Reader, That's what a client asked me when we were wrapping up our engagement. She wasn't being sarcastic, she was genuinely stunned. She came in thinking I was just a LinkedIn coach.A lot of people do. And I get it. "LinkedIn coach" sounds like someone who tells you to post more and get more engagement. That's not what this is. What you actually get inside my program: → A fully optimized profile with custom branding and messaging (not a template, yours, done with you)→ Podcast-style...

Hi Reader, I'm not ready yet.... but I'll keep you in mind. You know that line, right? The polite brush-off that sounds promising but usually means nothing. My client Scott heard it at a biotech event about a year ago. The guy seemed interested, it was a good conversation. But: "We're not looking for anything right now." Most people would've followed up once or twice, then moved on.Scott did something different. And six months later, that same person sent him a LinkedIn DM: "Hey, we're ready to...

Hi Reader, Favikon dropped their Top 10 Worldwide LinkedIn Personal Branding list on Sunday and... there I am - #10! Right after some genuinely impressive humans (including the legendary Chris Do!) My first reaction? Who even comes up with these things? My second reaction? Okay, this is kinda cool! Especially because I'm not chasing the algorithm, I'm not posting five times a week, I don’t spend hours on the platform (currently at 30-45min/day). I'm not doing anything that would make a...
