Hi Reader, Not sure about the ROI of personal branding? Events, when done right, will change your mind. This is actually how I built a name for myself in the manufacturing space years ago. I was brand new to the industry, knew nothing, but used LinkedIn to prepare before every trade show. I researched who was going, reached out before I arrived, and stacked my calendar with meetings before I even walked through the door. That approach brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars. Made me the go-to person on my team for events. And I still have clients today who first heard of me from those events back in 2018. Now as a business owner, I use the same playbook. Since the last big event I went to, I 20x'd my investment. And that's just revenue. I can't even quantify the value in relationships formed and deepened. But most people show up, do the thing, and then... nothing. Maybe a few LinkedIn connections. Maybe a follow-up or two. And then life gets busy and it all fades. There's a playbook though. And the biggest takeaway is this: Conversations don't have to start or end at the event. They can start long before, and continue on for a lifetime. I was recently featured in Entreprenista where I break down the 8 things you can do on LinkedIn to maximize ROI from any event. Founders Weekend is tomorrow (!), but this applies to any event. Big or small, digital or in person. Obviously the bigger the event, the more prep. But even a local networking event can turn into real business if you're intentional about it. If you have any events coming up, this one's for you. Toodles, P.S. Doors open for June cohort of the REALationship Growth Method on Monday! You can imagine we dive way deeper into the full playbook. Struggling on LinkedIn? I've got the REAL LinkedIn Strategy to help you get more visible and win more sales.
Hey Reader! I'm writing this on Saturday while my son takes his 2.5 hour nap. This is my creative/me-time when I'm not distracted by client calls, LinkedIn, or all the other 100 things it takes to run a business. And it got me thinking about something I hear all the time: "I'll focus on LinkedIn when I have more bandwidth." What I've recently learned as a business owner, breadwinner, mom, and wife: Things don't slow down. Busy is just life now (not in a bad way, I love my life). But I don't...
Hi Reader, That's what a client asked me when we were wrapping up our engagement. She wasn't being sarcastic, she was genuinely stunned. She came in thinking I was just a LinkedIn coach.A lot of people do. And I get it. "LinkedIn coach" sounds like someone who tells you to post more and get more engagement. That's not what this is. What you actually get inside my program: → A fully optimized profile with custom branding and messaging (not a template, yours, done with you)→ Podcast-style...
Hi Reader, I'm not ready yet.... but I'll keep you in mind. You know that line, right? The polite brush-off that sounds promising but usually means nothing. My client Scott heard it at a biotech event about a year ago. The guy seemed interested, it was a good conversation. But: "We're not looking for anything right now." Most people would've followed up once or twice, then moved on.Scott did something different. And six months later, that same person sent him a LinkedIn DM: "Hey, we're ready to...
