Hey Reader, I decided to take a week off of LinkedIn posting. My postpartum, ADHD brain is temporarily out of order. I made several really silly mistakes that hurt my business, and I knew it was time to reset. (see more here). But that’s not actually what I want to talk about today. When I jumped on office hours with my community last week and told the squad I was doing a reset, someone asked, "What does a reset actually look like? Very fair question, I'm a LinkedIn strategist, after all. Taking a break from LinkedIn sounds... counterintuitive. BUT, I realized I was doing exactly what I tell my clients not to do. A successful LinkedIn strategy is content AND conversations. For the last few weeks (maybe months, if I'm being honest), I was putting content out there, going to events, doing the thing I say I do... but not following up with the conversations. I'd fallen behind on my DMs, I wasn't responding to comments…I wasn't doing the other half of LinkedIn that actually yields results. I was posting and praying. And I’m starting to feel it in my pipeline. Fewer calls have been booked despite more interest than ever! (If I owe you a response in the DM’s it is coming!) If you're only posting content and hoping opportunities come to you, you're going to get frustrated. Content alone doesn't bring in business, conversations do. I was turning into the exact thing I never wanted to be: a content creator dependent on my content and my audience. Something I can't control. (And idk about you, but I like being in control!) So my reset looks like no posting this week so I don’t fall even more behind! I need to catch up on what I’ve already been doing. What I want you to take from this: If you only have 30 minutes a day (or even just sporadic time here and there), I would rather you post less and focus more on conversations. 1-2x posts a week is plenty if you're also: That's the activity that actually brings opportunities. It’s also the half most people skip. Life does life. Things get busy. Even me, someone who's built a whole business around this and teaches it every day, fell behind in the areas that are most important. Someone in my community said something after I shared this: "I needed to hear this today. Step back, think about what your original intent was, and get back to that." That's exactly it. The original intent was never to become a ‘content creator’. It’s content AND conversations. Visibility AND relationships. If you've been posting but not following up, this is your reminder to get back to that. Content creates visibility, conversations create business. Do both. (and if you haven’t been doing either - this is a reminder that it doesn’t have to be some giant undertaking…1x/week is the best place to start!) Toodles, P.s. This is exactly what we build inside the REALationship Growth Method - a system where content and conversations work together. My 5th (!!) cohort is filling up FAST! We kick off June 23rd which means we’ve got 2 weeks until doors close. This is my last cohort of the season! Curious to learn more? Book yourself a Cohort Curiosity Call or reply to this email! |

(here's how) Hi Reader, I went into my vacation last week fully expecting a small 5th cohort in my program. And I was totally okay with it. I’ve been going hard with all these cohorts, a launch every other month. But I’d booked a week-long vacation with my family, the first time taking off more than a day ever! I wanted to actually be present with my family, sit on the beach, and not spend the whole trip stressing about filling spots. A smaller group felt like a fair trade for a real...
(how to not do the same) Hi Reader, I've been so traumatized by being pressure-sold that I forgot to sell when people actually wanted me to. Last week I hosted my first ever open office hours. I opened it up to y’all - it was awesome. New faces, familiar faces, and even a handful of current clients! Really good questions the whole way through. It was everything I hoped it would be. And then, with about a minute left on the clock, someone asked, "So….can you tell us how it works to work with...
Hi Reader, My next cohort kicks off June 23rd, and there’s one spot left! Instead of ME telling you why you should take it, I’ll let three women who’ve been through it do the talking: 1. AMELIE → Her very first post in the program landed her a client. That fast. → Made her entire investment back in the first two months. → Went from fearing LinkedIn to actually being excited to show up. In her words: “Not only did I get my money back from clients, but I’ve now learned a skill that’s going to...
