Here's how you never have to do cold outreach

Hey Reader,

I launched my first ever funnel a few weeks ago. The REALationship Signal Map. It's a way to “read the room” on LinkedIn and find the people who are quietly waving hello to you.

Someone bought the full system that first weekend (a stranger, not even connected to me…so I guess these funnel things actually work?!)

But here's the interesting part. She responded to me right away and said, “these are great resources. But I’m confused because it goes against what the LinkedIn strategist I hired told me to do.”

As you can imagine, this is not the first time I’ve heard this (but this did make me smile especially big, I’m not going to lie 🤓).

I get it. Most LinkedIn advice out there tells you to send sequences. Pitch in the DMs. Follow up until they say no. Numbers game.

It feels gross because it kinda is gross.

But listen, my approach isn't "don't do outreach."

It's do outreach differently.

I don't do cold outreach. I haven't since my first sales job when they made me do it and I didn't know any better.

What I do instead is build a system that creates signals of intent, and then I act on those signals.

Here's an example from Monday. I'm part of a local startup group in Charleston. I reached out to someone in that group. Just a simple message. They responded back: "I’m interested in your services”

That's not cold. There's already trust established because we're in the same community. They've maybe seen my name around.

I didn't have to pitch. They asked.

That's the whole point of what we're building here.

Your profile is your hub.It needs to be clear about what you do, who you help, and how. A clear call to action. A place that showcases your expertise and builds trust before they ever talk to you.

Your content does the work of showing your expertise, your social proof, and letting people get to know you. ( My “Know-Trust-Like” content framework)

Your engagement pulls out the lurkers. Calls to action. Calls to engage. Starting conversations.

And when you do initiate those conversations? It doesn't feel like you're putting them through some icky sequence. It feels like a conversation that was supposed to happen.

Because it was.

Is this more pieces than just "send 100 DMs a day"? Yes.

But when you put it together, it doesn't feel like sales. It feels authentic. Organic. Like you're just talking to people.

That's the magic.

This isn't for everyone. If you want a quick hack or a script to copy/paste, this isn't it.

But if you want a system that feels like you? That actually works? That you can sustain?

That's what I help people build.

Reply "LFG" if you’re ready to build yours. My June cohort is halfway full and I’ve got 1x 1:1 spot left for a June start!

Toodles,
Natasha

P.S. If you want to start with the Signal Map that stranger got a few weeks ago, take a peak here. It'll show you the most common signals to look for and how to act on them.

(here's how) Hi Reader, I went into my vacation last week fully expecting a small 5th cohort in my program. And I was totally okay with it. I’ve been going hard with all these cohorts, a launch every other month. But I’d booked a week-long vacation with my family, the first time taking off more than a day ever! I wanted to actually be present with my family, sit on the beach, and not spend the whole trip stressing about filling spots. A smaller group felt like a fair trade for a real...

(how to not do the same) Hi Reader, I've been so traumatized by being pressure-sold that I forgot to sell when people actually wanted me to. Last week I hosted my first ever open office hours. I opened it up to y’all - it was awesome. New faces, familiar faces, and even a handful of current clients! Really good questions the whole way through. It was everything I hoped it would be. And then, with about a minute left on the clock, someone asked, "So….can you tell us how it works to work with...

Hi Reader, My next cohort kicks off June 23rd, and there’s one spot left! Instead of ME telling you why you should take it, I’ll let three women who’ve been through it do the talking: 1. AMELIE → Her very first post in the program landed her a client. That fast. → Made her entire investment back in the first two months. → Went from fearing LinkedIn to actually being excited to show up. In her words: “Not only did I get my money back from clients, but I’ve now learned a skill that’s going to...
